El futbol en Chile este año también fue afectado por el terremoto que azotó el país en febrero y la ANFP decidió que, el Torneo de Apertura y Clausura se transformaria en un largo Campeonato Nacional de Primera División, donde la regularidad del equipo era lo que haria el mejor y mas solido llegar al triunfo y lo logró Universidad Catolica de Adan Vergara junto a sus compañeros.
Meritorio para toda la institución y sobretodo para Vergara, que tras una lesión que lo sacó 6 meses de cancha, volvió fuerte y mejor que nunca. Su regreso a las canchas fue en el clásico universitário, Universidad Católica x Universidad de Chile, en la fecha 15 del Campeonato Nacional. Vergara tuvo una gran actuación al lado de todo el plantel, llevandólos a la victoria y acercandóse mas al titulo.
Vergara cuenta que, la unión de todos los jugadores del equipo fue la gran arma para que juntos, se consagraran campeones del Bicentenario de Chile.
En el partido final, contra Everton de Viña del Mar, a los 3 minutos del segundo tiempo, Vergara mantuvo su gran ritmo de juego y anota de cabeza, tras un tiro libre, el tercer gol para la UC, dejando el panorama de los cruzados aún mas claro como ganadores del duelo.
La UC aún así siguio luchando y la goleada de 5 - 0 los consagró Campeones de Chile, llevando a la locura la hinchada de San Carlos de Apoquindo.
La UC queda clasificada para la Copa Libertadores de America 2011.

Vergara is Champion 2010 in Catholic University

In the final match against Everton de Viña del Mar, at 3 minutes, in the second half , Vergara maintained his big style to play and scoring head, after a free kick, the third goal for UC, leaving the scene of the "Crusaders" even more clear as winners of the match.
The Catholic University still continued to fight and won to 5-0 becoming champions of Chilean Soccer, leading to euphoria the fans of "San Carlos de Apoquindo".
The Catholic University is qualified for the "Copa Libertadores de America" 2011.
