Después de su paso por Universidad Católica, logrando más un título en su carrera ( Campeón Nacional 2010), Vergara llega a Valparaíso para aportar al equipo de Santiago Wanderers, un equipo tradicional chileno, al cual Vergara, las veces que estuvo en cancha respondió muy bien a las exigencias de los adversários, pero el fútbol es formado por todo un equipo y Wanderers no tuvo mucha suerte en 2011.

En el Campeonato de Clausura de 2011, Wanderers tuvo un a discreta actuación, pero logra mantenerse en la elite del fútbol chileno.

Para el año de 2012, asume la banca de Santiago Wanderers, el experiente Arturo Salah, generando nuevas expectativas para la institución al cual Vergara tiene vínculo hasta diciembre de 2012.

Deseamos que 2012 sea un mejor año para Wanderers junto a su plantel y nuevo director técnico, así como deseamos que Vergara tenga un gran desempeño y pueda mostrar el buen fútbol que lleva en sus venas.
