Confirmado: despues de una semana de entrenamiento bajo los atentos ojos del técnico Marco Antonio Figueroa, Vergara es el nuevo refuerzo de la Universidad Católica. Vergara habló, en los medios nacionales, la alegría que es para él volver a jugar en Chile, que estar en Universidad Católica fue un paso importante en su carrera profesional y su objetivo en la UC es entregar el 100% en la cancha y llegar al titulo del Campeonato de Apertura junto a sus compañeros, que para el fue una gran motivación para estar en la UC.
